- While there are ways to fix broken and mildly damaged jewelry, you want to try and take preventative measures to avoid letting your favorite pieces break in the first place. The first step is to make sure you have the right place to store your jewelry properly in a cool, dry place and clean it every once in a while. Try to keep various jewelry pieces separately to avoid scratching, tangling or chipping. Use a box or bag with partitions or compartments that allows you to store your pieces in individual spaces.
